Across the street …

For the next few weeks I’ll be the assistant conductor of Iphigenie en Tauride at the San Francisco Opera. I’ve always wanted to have a foot in the opera world, and this is a good way to start. I’m loving every minute of the staging rehearsals, and the team effort involved in opera. Susan Graham sounds amazing — haven’t heard the other principals yet. Condcutor Patrick Summers is an oracle of operatic knowledge. I’m learning things … what a blast!

There is only one prop being used in this production — can you guess what it is? Hint: it can be useful in the kitchen and also for human sacrifice.
